Signature Programs
There are many ways to ensure the success of the Heart Institute. In addition to a wide variety of donation and investment opportunities, our Signature Programs provide other ways to become more involved with the Institute. Regardless of your level of interest, there is probably a Signature Program that is right for you.
Heart of Gold

The Heart of Gold Program allows you to recognize people at the Heart Institute who have provided exceptional care—and to contribute to our vital work.
You can honour a doctor, a nurse, an allied health professional, a volunteer, or even an entire unit.
All honourees will receive a thank-you card and a prestigious Heart of Gold pin to wear, ensuring that colleagues and patients alike will recognize their special dedication to patient care.
Thank One. Help Many.
You can rest assured that your gift to the Heart Institute will be used wisely.
Your donation will ensure that we continue to provide the very best care for our patients and that the Heart Institute remains a leader in cardiovascular medicine in Canada and internationally.
“You took very good care of me. For this, I can’t thank you enough. Your kindness is in itself a healer. God bless you all. I feel great.”
— Mrs. Elsie Massaad

We are pleased to tell you about a new kind of network in Ottawa. It's a network of emerging business leaders and others drawn from many different backgrounds who share a common destiny. All are rising as the next generation of leaders in the region. Collectively, they will shape the future direction and evolution of the city, its infrastructure, its organizations, its people, and its values and priorities.

It's a network of emerging business leaders and others drawn from many different backgrounds who share a common destiny. All are rising as the next generation of leaders in the region. Collectively, they will shape the future direction and evolution of the city, its infrastructure, its organizations, its people, and its values and priorities.
This network consists of men and women who are approaching the zenith of their individual pursuits, whether it be running a company; managing a non-profit organization; steering a government department; shaping the way we live, work, or play; or something else. Regardless, it is clear from their accomplishments to date that they will one day assume the mantle of overall responsibility to influence, lead, and govern.
Organized by the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation, Leaders at Heart aims to interconnect our next generation of leadership in order to bond, share, and learn. About leadership. About social responsibility. About caring and compassion.
Leaders at Heart offers you, the leaders in the region, a wealth of fun and interesting opportunities to meet people, discuss common issues and challenges, make new connections, gain insights, and take another step in your evolution. In exchange, we ask you to do two things. First, you must be prepared to fully contribute your knowledge, drive, and passion to strengthen our network and enable people to learn from you. Second, you must be prepared to underscore your commitment with a tax-deductible donation of $2,500 spread over five years.
In exchange you will have opportunities to participate in a wide and interesting array of events, such as leadership seminars and behind the scenes tours of the Institute, to name only a few. You will learn about the future challenges and opportunities in the complex arena of healthcare facing the City of Ottawa and elsewhere. You will benefit from the wisdom and experience of others like you. You will lead.
