Shifts

 

Function : To provide laboratory assistance in the daily operations of the Cardiac PET Radiochemistry lab.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the daily production of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Monitor production of radiopharmaceuticals thoughout the manufacturing process. 
  • Basic cyclotron operations.
  • Work with the radio-chemists in the developmentof technical protocols for radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Work with Head, Radiochemistry to develop quality control procedures which comply with industry standards. Conduct quality control analysis. 

Basic Requirements/Preferred Qualifications :

  • BSc Chemistry or equivalent
  • 2 years experience in a progressive chemical laboratory
  • Working experience with radioactive materials considered an asset

Competencies/Suitability:

Knowledge of

  • General laboratory equipment (HPLC, thin-layer chromatography, osmometer, gas chromatograph, radioactivity detectors) and their applications along with standard procedures.
  • Procedure instrumentation.
  • Legislated requirements related to practice and equipment operation relevant to job function.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to component level.
