Reporting to the Manager of Application Development and Support, the Database Developer prepares data collected from clinical database for research and management queries. This may include participation in consultation with clinicians/researchers/managers on query requirements, coding of business logic, setup of database schemas and other database objects, and optimize database queries. In addition, the Database Developer may also be required to generate statistic reports for management decision making and converting data between different databases.

Basic Requirements:

  • College diploma or University Degree in computer engineering, computer science or a related field;
  • 2 years of database application development experience;
  • Ability to learn new technology and methodologies
  • Experience in database design methodologies and relational database architectures, preferably in Oracle or MS SQL environment;
  • Practiced ability in methods, practices, techniques and equipment used in data querying as defined above;
  • Experience with PL/SQL and scripting languages such as perl or python.
  • Knowledge of database development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare setting experience would be preferred
