Function: Research Animal Technician to operate multi-user microPET imaging suite. Successful candidate will schedule and perform studies for the development and testing of novel microPET imaging tracers and small animal imaging protocols.

Duties consist of image acquisition, data processing/analysis, and data management. Other tasks include invoicing, camera quality control, surgical procedures such as venous and arterial cannulation, post-mortem organ dissection and biodistribution studies, drug treatments, data entry, literature searches, article retrievals, participation in manuscript and grant writing processes.

Minimum Requirements/ Qualifications:

Candidate must have a minimum Honors BSc in a health-related discipline or a diploma in Veterinary Technology, with equivalent relevant training.


  1. The applicant is required to have a working knowledge of animal-related standards, specifically the CCAC guidelines.
  2. CALAS/ACSAL certification.
  3. Experience performing animal experiments, knowledge of nuclear medicine imaging technology, and familiarity of GLP regulations.
  4. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, well organized with good record keeping skills.
  5. The ability to work independently, as well as within team environment with modest supervision.
  6. The position also requires excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Endnote, Matlab, and SPSS.
