Research and Clinical Interests
Michel Labrosse’s research interests revolve around theoretical and computational structural analysis and its applications to the diagnosis and surgical treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Specifically, his lab is working on computational simulations of native aortic and mitral valves, stress analysis of the aorta in different pathologies, determination of mechanical properties of blood platelet membrane, cavitation in mechanical heart valves and design of laparoscopic tools. Collaborators include the University of Heidelberg in Germany, the National Research Council Canada and the Robarts Research Institute in London, Ontario. The work is funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
