Overview

Peter Rippstein is Manager of the Stewart Whitman Core Histopathology Laboratory and the Electron Microscopy Laboratory at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Background

Rippstein obtained his ART certification in Electron Microscopy from the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science in 1987. He then received his MLT certification from the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario in 1994 and his RT certification in Histotechnology from the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science in 1996.

Before joining the Heart Institute in 2003, Rippstein was employed as the Charge Technologist of the Histopathology and Electron Microscopy laboratories at The Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus).

Over the years, Rippstein has had the opportunity to lecture and to present workshops in diagnostic electron microscopy and in histopathological methodology at national and international conferences.
