Rosalind Labow is Director of the Taichman Laboratory at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Professor in the Department of Surgery and Biochemistry and the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Ottawa.


Labow received her undergraduate education at McGill University in Montreal, and her MS and PhD degrees at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Her post-doctoral fellowship was carried out at the New York State Department of Health.

She has been Director of the Taichman Laboratory at the Heart Institute since 1988. Before that, she was a research scientist at the Canadian Red Cross from 1983 to 1988, a Research Associate at the National Research Council from 1981 to 1983, and a Professional Assistant at the University of Ottawa in the Department of Biochemistry from 1969 to 1981.

Labow holds two Canadian Institutes of Health Research grants. She is a Member in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Ottawa and maintains an Adjunct Professorship at Dalhousie University, Halifax, in the School of Biomedical Engineering.
