Extending the Human Life Span
Human lifespan doubled in the 20th century and, with advances in medicine in general and genetics in particular, it is not unreasonable to expect they will double again in the 21st century. Some 50 percent of heart disease is caused by genetic factors. As we make progress in understanding those genetics, heart disease could become history in as little as 50 years.
