Inpatient Information

If you are going to be admitted to the Heart Institute, please bring the following items with you:

• Health Card and insurance information
• Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap or hand lotion, etc.)
• All of the medications you are currently taking in their bottles
• Reading materials
• A small amount of money or change for newspapers, telephone, etc.

Please DO NOT bring:

• Any valuables, such as jewelry or large amounts of money

You can arrange to have a telephone at your bedside for an additional daily or weekly fee. Pay telephones are located on the patient floors.

Small, wall-mounted televisions with earphones can be rented daily or weekly. Each unit has a lounge with a television for patients and their families.

Please note: The Heart Institute is a smoke-free facility. Patients, family members or guests must leave the building if they wish to smoke.
