O’Brien Vascular Biology Laboratory
Overview
The O’Brien Vascular Biology Laboratory investigates why arteries become blocked and explores novel directions in the treatment of vascular disease. We combine insights from the management of patients with heart disease with the molecular techniques of basic research in order to test hypotheses and therapies in various experimental models. Ultimately, our goal is to develop new therapeutic strategies that some day soon can be used in the clinic to improve the prevention of coronary artery disease and the treatment of patients.
While the scope of our work is quite broad, this overview is, of course, limited. We apologize in advance to those colleagues and collaborators who have not received appropriate credit for their contributions to these projects.
