Le Dr John Veinot est pathologiste cardiovasculaire, directeur de l’ anatomopathologie et chercheur clinicien à l’Institut de cardiologie de l’Université d’Ottawa. Il est pathologiste cardiovasculaire et chef adjoint du Service de pathologie et médecine de laboratoire à L’Hôpital d’Ottawa. Le Dr Veinot est également directeur adjoint du Département de pathologie et médecine de laboratoire et professeur au Département de pathologie de l’Université d’Ottawa.

Parcours 

Le Dr Veinot a fait des études de premier cycle à l’Université Acadia de Wolfville en Nouvelle-Écosse avant de suivre une formation en médecine à l’École de médecine de l’Université Dalhousie, à Halifax. Il a fait son internat en rotation à l’Hôpital Victoria de London (Ontario) et sa résidence en anatomopathologie à l’Université Queen’s, de Kingston (Ontario), avant de terminer ses études postdoctorales en pathologie cardiovasculaire à la Clinique Mayo, à Rochester au Minnesota.

Le Dr Veinot a une passion pour la pédagogie. Il enseigne notamment à des étudiants en médecine, à des résidents en cardiologie et en chirurgie cardiaque ainsi qu’à des infirmières spécialisées en cardiologie.

Intérêts cliniques et de recherche 

Le Dr Veinot a un intérêt marqué pour la pathologie cardiaque et vasculaire, la resténose et l’athérosclérose coronariennes, la transplantation cardiaque et la pédagogie médicale.
