OTTAWA, March 22, 2017 – Between March 26 and April 5, 2017, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute will be implementing a new telephone system to enhance accessibility to its services, and to provide teams and staff with a modern communication system. Changes are part of the Heart Institute’s new expansion set to open in the spring of 2018.
As of April 5, the new main number for the Heart Institute will be 613-696-7000, and an automated system will guide callers through the Institute’s main directory. All fax numbers will change on March 26.
All details and updates on the new telephone and fax numbers will be posted on our Contact Us page, and the Heart Institute’s website will be updated to reflect the changes. Starting April 5, if you cannot find the number you are looking for, call our new main number at 613-696-7000 and follow the instructions.
Heart Institute partners and affiliates will receive more details on the change via email, or by telephone/fax. Ads communicating the changes will also be published in local and community newspapers in the Champlain region.
“This project has a broad impact and will impact all staff, patients, partners and anyone that needs to call or fax into the Heart Institute. Over time, the new system will offer us many new technologies to better communicate and collaborate,” said Hana Pika, Vice-President of Information Technology.
The Heart Institute expansion will create a state-of-the-art facility that will meet the demands of delivering outstanding cardiovascular care to a growing and changing patient population. The facility will provide greater capacity and efficiencies and will support the advanced and rapidly changing technologies required to care for patients who are often older and have more complex medical needs than in the past.
