Lagace Thomas, BSc, PhD

Congratulations to Thomas Lagacé, PhD. Dr. Lagacé has won a grant which is part of the Pfizer’s ASPIRE Cardiovascular program. This program is designed to support basic science, pre-clinical research, and clinical research that brings new insights into or advances the understanding of the role of the PCSK9 protein/gene in health and disease.

Along with his team, Dr. Lagacé is researching ways to prevent a protein, called PCSK9, from destroying the LDL receptors. These receptors are needed to reduce bad cholesterol from the body. With the help of this grant, Dr. Lagace and his team hope to one day discover novel cholesterol-lowering treatments.
