Heart Institute’s Dr. Erin Mulvihill receives Amgen Stewart Whitman Young Investigator Award

Dr. Erin Mulvihill Awarded the Amgen Stewart Whitman Young Investigator Award.

The Canadian Lipoprotein Conference (CLC) has named Dr. Erin Mulvihill of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) the 2019 recipient of the Amgen Stewart Whitman Young Investigator Award.

Dr. Mulvihill is a scientist and director of the Energy Substrate Metabolism Research Laboratory at the UOHI. Once a year, the award is bestowed to an emerging scientist conducting lipid or lipoprotein research and transitioning to a career as an independent investigator. The award honours Dr. Stewart Whitman, a UOHI scientist who demonstrated innovative, research success in the role of innate immunity and atherosclerosis.

As part of the award, Dr. Mulvihill will receive a grant for her research laboratory and present a keynote lecture at the 2020 Canadian Lipoprotein Conference.
