Dr. Mariana Lamacié is a Cardiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Lamacié received her medical degree at the University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 2006. She then obtained a Master of Science in Cardiovascular Physiology from the same institution and in collaboration with the University of Graz, Austria, in 2008.
Her project led to a patent publication on Antioxidant Composition for Tissue and Organ Preservation in 2012.
After training in cardiology at the Hospital do Coração (Sao Paulo, Brazil) Dr. Lamacié completed a clinical fellowship in Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance in 2014.
In 2015 she moved to Canada to pursue a research fellowship in Cardiac MRI followed by a clinical fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation at the University of Toronto where she also served as chief fellow.
Dr. Lamacié joined the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in 2018.
Her clinical research interests lie in heart failure/transplant and cardiac imaging particularly in magnetic resonance imaging, strain analysis and tissue characterization.
