The University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI)’s 30th Annual Research Day was held on May 15, 2017. It was a great celebration of cardiovascular research excellence in the Ottawa region.
We were very pleased to host the world-renowned physician researcher, Dr. Gordon A. Francis, Professor of Medicine and Associate Director, UBC and St. Paul’s Hospital’s Centre for Heart Lung Innovation, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Francis gave an exciting talk on “The Importance of Smooth Muscle Cells in Atherosclerotic Foam Cell Formation in Humans and Mice”.
Congratulations to the Ottawa region’s trainees for their excellence work in cardiovascular research, and to all the prize winners!
