To deliver on the ORACLE strategic plan priority themes, Innovation Clusters have been created. An Innovation Cluster is defined as the convergence of people and technology of diverse origins that together function as a new unit to solve a major research question. This lateral connectivity creates innovation and leveraging opportunities to maximize research impact. An Innovation Cluster is the foundation of and has the potential to grow into a Centre of Excellence.
Our Innovation Clusters are working on a number of pilot projects that are addressing major gaps and unmet needs in the knowledge base that can potentially transform the field. A list of eight Innovation Clusters is provided below. Modest seed funds are provided by the Heart Institute to assist the Clusters with these pilot projects, through a competitive process.
