Tract
of specialized tissue extending into the interventricular
septum
The
Bundle divides into the right and left branches
The
left bundle splits into two further fasciculi
Impulses
travel faster down the left bundle than the right allowing
the larger thicker walled left ventricle to contract simultaneously
with the smaller thinner walled right ventricle
Purkinje
fibres extend from the bundles into the endocardium
Can
serve as a pacemaker discharging impulses at a rate of 20-40
beats/min
