Foundation
Jump In™ for Women’s Heart Health
In September 2024, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation celebrated the fifth anniversary of Jump In™! Supporting women’s heart health from coast to coast, the 30-day challenge raised $311,000 in 2024. The campaign saw over 900 participants and generated 810,000 minutes of movement.
February is Heart Month
In February 2025, the community raised $1.4 million for cardiac care. Businesses, homes and individuals promoted heart health for all by purchasing paper hearts, hosting events, and joining the Light the Capital Red initiative in support of the compassionate and world-renowned doctors, surgeons, nurses, researchers, and medical professionals at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
The Wilbert Keon Memorial Golf Tournament
The third annual Wilbert Keon Memorial Golf Tournament raised over $270,000 to support groundbreaking research, world-class care, and the education of future healthcare professionals. Inspired by the memory of the much-loved co-founder of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Dr. Wilbert J. Keon, the Foundation team is grateful to all who participated and supported the institute during this sold-out event.
The Ottawa Pickleball Classic
The Ottawa Pickleball Classic returned for its second year in May of 2024. Seventy teams participated in a full day of play and raised over $52,000 in support of cardiac care, education, and groundbreaking research. Mobile heart screenings and health checks were offered on site to players and spectators.

Media regularly turn to our healthcare professionals for their expertise on a wide range of important heart health topics. In 2024-25, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute appeared in over 1,600 articles published by verified print and online sources.
