Fifty years ago, a bold vision took root — a vision to transform heart health and redefine what’s possible in cardiovascular care.

Today, as the Ottawa Heart Institute celebrates its 50th anniversary, we honour a legacy built on innovation, compassion, and relentless pursuit of excellence.

These five decades have been marked by breakthroughs that changed the course of medicine, the countless lives touched along the way, and the people who made it all happen. And while we reflect on the milestones that shaped us, our eyes are firmly set on the future — on new discoveries and transformative care that will lead the next era of heart health.

This is our story — 50 years of heart — and we're just getting started.
