Andrea Roy is an Elected Director and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Andrea is an internationally experienced audit partner based in Deloitte Ottawa’s Audit & Assurance practice. Andrea brings 20 years of experience in advising a wide spectrum of organizations across Canada and Australia and leading multi-jurisdictional group audits across the UK, US, Europe and Asia. Andrea specializes in external audit and advising companies on finance function effectiveness, finance processes and internal controls. Andrea is passionate about working with fast growing globalising companies, predominantly in the technology sector, providing transaction and M&A support.

Andrea has extensive experience auditing companies reporting under IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the U.S.), and providing accounting, audit, internal control, governance and business advisory services to public and private companies in a variety of industries. Andrea enjoys working closely with boards and company stakeholders to solve their most complex and pressing issues.

Raised in Ottawa, Andrea spent a number of years working in Australia before returning in recent years to Ottawa with her young family. She is passionate about volunteering and values her role with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute to make an impact in our community in the National Capital Region.
