Job summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Preclinical Nuclear Imaging Technician to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing preclinical imaging studies using cutting-edge PET/CT instrumentation. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about molecular imaging and preclinical research.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform tail vein injections and set tail vein cannulas in mice and rats with precision.
  • Operate and maintain PET/CT imaging systems, ensuring high-quality data acquisition.
  • Analyze imaging data using specialized software such as PMOD or VivoQuant.
  • Collaborate with researchers to support preclinical imaging protocols (MRI and echo) and experimental design.
  • Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and laboratory protocols.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in health-related field.
  • Proven experience in performing tail vein injections and cannulation in rodents.
  • Hands-on experience operating PET/CT instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis using PMOD or VivoQuant software.
  • Experience with Paravision or Bruker PET/CT scanners is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling preclinical imaging studies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with radiopharmaceuticals and their applications in preclinical imaging.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in developing and optimizing imaging protocols.

Working conditions

  • Ability to work on site full time.
