Erin Stitt-Cavanagh is a dedicated leader in health education and academic administration, with a career spanning over two decades in post-secondary education, biomedical research, and strategic institutional development. Currently serving as Dean of the School of Health Studies at Algonquin College, Erin oversees a diverse portfolio of programs including Nursing, Allied Health, and Health Foundations. Her leadership is marked by a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, accreditation integrity, and community-responsive programming.
With a PhD in Cellular & Molecular Medicine and an Executive MBA from Queen’s University, she brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and strategic vision to her work. Erin is a published researcher, passionate educator, and active contributor to regional health networks, committed to advancing innovation and excellence in healthcare education.
Throughout her career, Erin has demonstrated a deep commitment to experiential learning, innovation, and student success. As Academic Chair at Algonquin College, she led the launch of the Cardiovascular Technology program and managed accreditation processes across allied health disciplines. Her leadership extended to operational oversight of the Student Dental Clinic, which serves thousands of clients annually while providing hands-on training for students.
Beyond her institutional roles, Erin is an active contributor to regional and national health education initiatives. She served on the Eastern Ontario Academic Health Sciences Network, the Champlain Medical Imaging Steering Committee, and has held governance roles with Arnprior Regional Health, including Vice-Chair of the Board. Her work consistently bridges academic excellence with community impact, fostering partnerships that enhance healthcare delivery and workforce readiness.
