Dr. Calum Redpath is a Clinician-Scientist and Staff Cardiologist in the Department of Electrophysiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Associate Professor in the Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
Background
Dr. Redpath received undergraduate medical training in Glasgow, Scotland and was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow (MRCP) in 2000. The work of his Ph.D. studied human cardiac cellular electrophysiology. Following completion of clinical training in London (UK), Ottawa and Boston (USA) he joined the Heart Institute in 2010.
Research and clinical interests
Dr. Redpath's practice focuses on the prevention, detection and treatment of all arrhythmia-related disorders. His research interests span from single cells all the way to population based studies but are primarily focused on the use of novel technologies to prevent and treat sudden cardiac death and specifically, Ventricular Tachycardia.
