Mulloy, Andrew

Andrew Mulloy, MD, is a cardiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and The Ottawa Hospital. He is also appointed as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Mulloy is the director of the Adult Echocardiography Fellowship program, training Cardiologists in advanced cardiac ultrasound. Additionally, he is director of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute’s Aerospace and Dive Cardiology Clinic.

Background

Dr. Mulloy completed his undergraduate medical education at McMaster University. He trained in internal medicine at McMaster University and in cardiology at the University of Ottawa. He completed a fellowship in adult echocardiography at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.

Research and clinical interests

Dr. Mulloy’s primary areas of practice are clinical cardiology and echocardiography. He sees patients in his general cardiology clinic as well as at the UOHI Centre for Valvular Heart Disease. In addition, he works as an echocardiographer in the UOHI’s department of medical imaging. Dr. Mulloy has a particular interest in the cardiac care of patients who participate in high-risk professions and activities, including pilots, astronauts, and scuba divers. Lastly, Dr. Mulloy provides virtual care to patients living in the Deep River community via the Ontario Telehealth Network.
