Jamal Alkadri, MD, is a cardiac anesthesiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Ottawa.
Background
Dr. Alkadri received his medical degree in 2019, attained a master's degree in epidemiology in 2022, and finished his anesthesiology residency in 2024, all at the University of Ottawa. He later completed a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia at Toronto General Hospital in 2025.
Dr. Alkadri was awarded the Junior Clinical Research Chair in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Ottawa.
Research and clinical interests
Dr. Alkadri’s research interests focus on perioperative care for cardiac surgery patients using advanced data analytics and predictive modelling in large databases, with emphasis on understanding and reducing perioperative myocardial injury. He also has interests in transfusion and blood conserving measures in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
