Anahita Tavoosi, MD, is a cardiologist in the Division of Cardiology at the Ottawa Heart Institute and an assistant professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
Background
Dr. Tavoosi completed clinical training in cardiology and cardiac imaging at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, followed by advanced training in cardiac imaging at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. She is trained in nuclear cardiology, cardiac computed tomography (CT), cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and echocardiography.
Dr. Tavoosi was awarded the Kaufman–Chan Fellowship in the Division of Cardiology and the Dr. Robert Stelmack Memorial Award at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (2021–2023).
Research and clinical interests
Her clinical interests focus on valvular heart disease, with particular emphasis on advanced imaging (PET/CT and MRI) to enable early diagnosis and guide optimal timing of intervention.
Her research interest focuses on microvascular dysfunction, valvular disease, and cardiomyopathies, including sarcoidosis, leveraging multimodality imaging to deepen understanding of these conditions.
