Heather Tulloch est psychologue clinicienne en santé et réadaptation, scientifique et directrice du Laboratoire de psychologie de la santé cardiovasculaire et de médecine comportementale à l’Institut de cardiologie de l’Université d’Ottawa, et professeure agrégée au Département de médecine (Faculté de médecine) et à l’École de psychologie de l’Université d’Ottawa.

Parcours

Après l’obtention de son baccalauréat en psychologie de l’Université du Manitoba en 1995, Heather Tulloch a obtenu en 2000 une maîtrise en psychologie clinique de l’Université de l’État du Dakota du Nord à Fargo. Elle s’est jointe à l’Institut de cardiologie de l’Université d’Ottawa comme boursière de recherche en 2006. En 2007, elle a reçu un doctorat en psychologie clinique de l’Université d’Ottawa et, la même année, a reçu une bourse de recherche doctorale de l’Association canadienne de réadaptation cardiaque. En 2008, elle a été mise en nomination pour le Prix du jeune chercheur de l’Association européenne pour la prévention et la réadaptation cardiovasculaires, et est devenue membre de l’Ordre des psychologues de l’Ontario.

Heather Tulloch est membre de l’équipe de transplantation de l’ICUO et de l’équipe interdisciplinaire de santé cardiaque des femmes. Elle agit aussi comme conseillère auprès du Centre canadien de santé cardiaque pour les femmes. Elle est membre du Réseau canadien sur l’arythmie cardiaque, de la Canadian Assocation of Preventive Medicine et de la Société canadienne de psychologie. Elle a été évaluatrice pour la Fondation des maladies du cœur et de l’AVC du Canada, et pour les Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada.

Intérêts cliniques et de recherche

À titre de psychologue, Heather Tulloch fournit des services d’évaluation et d’intervention psychologique aux patients atteints de maladies cardiovasculaires, et mène des recherches sur le rôle des interventions et des mécanismes comportementaux, cognitifs, psychologiques et sociaux chez les patients atteints de maladies cardiovasculaires et leurs partenaires de vie dans le but d’améliorer la santé cardiovasculaire, la santé mentale et la qualité de vie.

Les recherches de Heather Tulloch sont financées par les Instituts canadiens de recherche sur la santé (IRSC) et la Fondation des maladies du cœur et de l’AVC du Canada, y compris les projets suivants, dont elle est la chercheuse principale :
