Promislow, Steven

Dr. Steven Promislow is a Cardiologist at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and at The Ottawa Hospital. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.

Background

Dr. Steven Promislow graduated from medical school at the University of Manitoba in 2010, and completed his residency training in internal medicine at the University of Manitoba in 2013, while serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He subsequently completed his cardiology residency in 2016 at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, acting as Chief Resident in 2015-2016, followed by clinical/research fellowships in both adult echocardiography and cardiac CT/nuclear cardiology. He joined the Division of Cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in 2018.

Dr. Promislow was the recipient of the Ernest and Margaret Ford endowed fellowship during his final year of fellowship training. In 2016, he received the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario Resident Teaching Award for provision of outstanding clinical teaching experiences to junior trainees.

Dr. Promislow is a member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, the Canadian Society of Echocardiography, and the Canadian Society of Cardiovascular Nuclear and CT Imaging. He also serves as a physician examiner for the Medical Council of Canada.

Research and clinical interests

Dr. Promislow’s academic interests lie in multimodality cardiac imaging and their application in clinical practice. In addition to his clinical work and research, Dr. Promislow is actively involved in education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
