Lindsay MacArthur is the advanced practice nurse for cardiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. She participates in patient care, research and education for patients and health care providers.

Background

Lindsay MacArthur received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010 from the University of Ottawa. She then earned her Master's in Nursing in 2022 from Charles Sturt University in Australia. Lindsay started her nursing career as a clinic staff nurse in the vascular surgery unit at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus. She joined the Heart Institute in 2011 as a clinical staff nurse in the cardiology unit and later became the heart failure transitional care nurse and Rapid Intervention Clinic nurse in 2019. Lindsay has been involved in many quality initiatives to improve patient care throughout her career as the co-chair of the nursing clinical practice committee.

As an advanced practice nurse in cardiology, she provides clinical expertise in the field of education and cardiovascular nursing.

Research and clinical interests

Lindsay’s research interests include cardiovascular nursing, patient education, and patient care outcomes for those with coronary artery disease and heart failure.
